Welcome to Occupational Therapy In Mind

Mental Health Occupational Therapy

Supporting people to live more intentionally and sustainably

Melbourne based, telehealth Australia wide
Life doesn’t always change overnight.

Sometimes our capacity shifts gradually, sometimes circumstances change, and sometimes we simply realise the way we’ve always coped is no longer working.

Whatever has brought you here, occupational therapy can help you make sense of what’s happening and build a way of living that feels more manageable, intentional and sustainable.

This might look like...

Midlife changes- perimenopause/ menopause

When changes in hormones, cognition, energy and identity are affecting every day life.

Burnout and work stress

When the way you have functioned at work is no longer sustainable and something needs to shift.

An Autism or ADHD diagnosis

When Autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities and years of masking are now impacting energy and regulation.

New parenthood

When caring for others has left little space for yourself.

Navigating significant life transitions

When life asks you to adapt

Hello and welcome

I’m Jess, a mental health occupational therapist with over 15 years’ experience supporting people navigating mental health and wellbeing.

Before creating OT in Mind, I spent many years working in community mental health and leadership roles. Like many of the people I now support, I was also trying to hold a lot together, raising two busy kids, navigating my own wellbeing, and wanting life to feel a little steadier and more manageable. This work grew from that space.

Over the years, I’ve realised I’m most drawn to supporting people at those points in life where their usual way of coping no longer fits. These moments can be brought on by changes in health, work, family or simply the growing demands of everyday life. Whatever the cause, they often become an opportunity to better understand ourselves and create a more sustainable way of living

My approach

I believe meaningful change starts with understanding.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I help people make sense of what’s happening and understand themselves with greater clarity and self-compassion.

From there, we translate that understanding into practical changes that support everyday life. Occupational therapy bridges the gap between understanding and doing, helping you build a way of living that feels more intentional, sustainable and aligned with who you are today

Understand

Develop a clearer understanding of yourself, your experiences and what’s contributing to the challenges you’re facing.

Rebuild

Experiment with practical strategies, routines and ways of living that reflect your current needs, values and capacity.

Sustain

Embed those changes into everyday life so they continue to support your wellbeing long after therapy has finished
